Originally an artist and Marketing major—lifetimes later, over the years I’ve been (among other things) a Social Services Manager, IT Eductor and Private-sector Professional, and Attorney. Now (semi-retired), I’m happy to direct HUG MORENZ FOUNDATION FOR MEDIA LITERACY, a private grantmaking foundation.

About THE GRAPHIC

In every Marketing class, the above graphic was shared. No one knew why at the time, including the instructors. But, now, we all realize that it was a tell—marketing companies (and now Big Tech) are constantly trying to push us down the pyramid…so much so that we, nowadays for example, see our personal spy devices (ie, cell phones or tablets in schools) as a necessity, like food and shelter.
